I realize that some apps use gps, google uses gps.

I looked in my task manager nothing is running

but my gps icon is on but the little waves arent moving at all

It never goes away, just sits there.

Anyone have same problem?

Fix ?

is there an app that is doing it that doesnt show?

A setting?

mine did that yesterday and sucked the battery dry, u have to do a battery pull to get it to stop

UGHHHHH
This sucks, i hope they start ota'ing updates out soon

My friend has the pre and they get updates every couple days.

I am using the Advanced App Killer to make sure any apps I am not currently using are turned off. That may help with your problem.

go into settings/location and security/uncheck "Use GPS satellites"

no need for resets

Agreed, leaving sattelite GPS on will kill you battery pretty quick, I only turn it on when I need very good accuracy, like when navigating, the aGPS (cell tower based) gives good enough accuracy for location based services.

You can also add the power control widget to one of your home screens for quick access to toggling on and off the WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Cellular radios as well as the bright backlight.

how long does it take for the upload complete iconn to go away or do they stay on forever?

I disagree. I see no difference in battery life by leaving GPS on all the time.

This simply isn't true. GPS isn't running all the time--only when actively being used by an app. GPS draws so little power that it doesn't even show up in the Battery Use monitor.

Go to settings, location, model and set for battery saver

Are you using any GPS app? In few GPS apps it ask you "do you want it on notification bar" at the time of installing it. Maybe something like this happen with you.

This thread is from 2009 folks. Chances are this isn't an issue anymore for this user and their profile says they haven't logged in since that same year.
