There are 3 options to choose for [Locations]:
settings>more>locations (turn on)>mode>[High accuracy (uses gps, wifi and mobile networks to estimate your location)]/[power saving (uses wifi and mobile networks to estimate your location)/[GPS only (uses GPS to estimate your location)]

Q1 If I choose [High accuracy (uses gps, wifi and mobile networks to estimate your location)], does the phone consume mobile data?

Q2 If I choose [GPS only (uses GPS to estimate your location)], does the phone consume mobile data?

Q3 If I choose [GPS only (uses GPS to estimate your location)], does using Google navigation/map consume mobile data?

Thanks

Navigation & maps will use mobile data no matter what your GPS setting is, unless you're sitting still & connected to wifi.

With that said, I used navigation for a road trip that was 1300+ miles one way & used it while we were in our destination cities & it really didn't use that much data. I don't have the numbers anymore, but I want to say it was around 5-700mb for the whole trip.

So if you're just using it occasionally around town, data use will be quite minimal.

My 5-700 Might've been the total trip, including Facebook, email, searching for things to do, etc the more I think about it.

Don't forget that you can also plan a route and then download the data while on wifi before leaving the house.

After you save the map, can you enlarge it so that you can see the building and street names?
