Google Wallet and NFC

I had heard that Verizon would not allow installing Google Wallet on any of their phones, but I haven't heard anything about in a while. I tried installing it on my G2 yesterday and it did install and let me set it up and connect my accounts and everything, but I have not tried to purchase anything yet because google has to make a deposit first to confirm my account. Has anyone else made a purchase using Wallet yet on this phone? Or used any of the NFC options?
