Goodbye my Fascinate friends

Hey guys, sorry to say but I'm jumping the fascinate ship over to a DInc2.

After the 2.2 update my phone kept biting the dust. (4 different warranty replacements)

I know I prob could have avoided the prob via root/flash, but I shouldn't have to do this to use my phone.

So a sup at vzw is sending me a DInc2.

I'll miss my sleek slender phone with my bright pretty screen. And now my phone won't match my tvs but I think it's for the best.

This phone had a lot to offer, too bad Samsung kinda dropped the software ball.

Oh and I guess I'll relinquish my Flashers Anonymous presidency over to Hecantbreathe... Or Tapout...better yet, you two fight it out, YouTube it, send me the link

Kind of disheartening news, considering I just ordered 2 Fascinates. :icon_eek:

Other than the problems since updating to 2.2, were you happy with the phone? What would you say made you intially pick it over, say, the DX or Incredible?

I have had 0 problems and I have two of them...both are rooted, ROM'd and run great great...
They are very slim, sleek phones.....amazing screen, good speed and decent battery life when setup correctly....I think you will enjoy it...no worries

It's a good phone. I chose it for the AmoLED display which I think rivals and maybe beats the iPhone. The thin, sleek design is awesome. It's a good product. I just had horrible issues that I couldn't get past. I don't have regular access to the internet in my home so accessing files and occasional ODINing just wasn't too practical.

You probably won't have issues if you're getting new that were probably built after 2.2. I think the problem was mainly with refurbs that didn't initially have 2.2.

I would recommend rooting/ROMing just because its the best way to get the phone to live up to its potential. And again with Tapout and Hecantbreathe you can't go wrong.

Well that just cured me. I was thinking of going back to my fascinate now that they rolled out 2.2. I will stick with my droid x after reading this.

Incredible 2 can be rooted and you can use titanium backup to freeze bloat. But they have not got soff yet so bootloader is locked.

It works fine for other people. Kinda hit and miss. Main issues people have are freezing and bad batt drain.

And if all u want is 2.2 the xda dev find are better than the stock froyo 2.2 imo

Lol why does everyone think I'm a dude? Maybe I should change my pic lol.

Oh and I should mention, my situation was an exception made by a sup. I don't know that they'll offer this to everyone/anyone. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with my tenure and the fact I've never really complained before.

I will also say at no point did I become irate or ask for a different phone. I'm only mentioning this because I've seen other threads about exceptions being made then people are like "i called and said I wanted what u did and they wouldn't do it."

Verizon has always told me, once you go through 4 phones in 6 months then you can choose a different phone. Of course its whatever Verizon gives you as options.

Good luck with the Dinc2 vyvid. I hope they can break that bootloader so it can be rooted.

That might be the case. They are a great company that really stands behind their service and products.

Gotta say the batt life on this bad boy blows the fascinate out of the water.
