Hi folks, I came to the Droid Forum looking for a solution to low volume on my Droid Incredible 2 and I found a really obvious solution, by accident. It had puzzled me that so many users complained about low volume while an equal number said they had no problems.
I'm on my second DINC2 because the first has software issues. My new one has worked great except for the volume. I've downloaded ringtones that have high pitches, bell chimes, whatever I could find. Marginal improvement.
Breakthrough today...I was looking at my camera lens and it was a little foggy so I rubbed it with my finger and it wrinkled - there was a protective plastic film covering it. I looked at the tiny speaker and it was shiny. I popped the back off the phone and there's a single plastic film running across, covering the lens, the autofocus, flash and speaker.
Once I peeled the plastic film off, the volume increased 10X! I know that's a no-brainer in hindsight, but I was ready to chuck this phone!
Hope that helps someone else out there!
