Since many of us like this thread, here's another song to share. Spiderbait (from Australia) with a remake of a classic Johnny Cash song. Didn't really like this movie, but like their remake of the song.
GMTA. I was just trying to come up with something to post here.
Allow me to introduce you to The Ratchets. Sad story here. I went to see The Hold Steady (the band I started this thread with *ahem*). This band opened for them. I thought they put on an incredible show. I bought the CD. Fell in love. Reminds me a little of a modern day Ramones.
Anyway, the sad part is: they broke up. Only released 2 albums. The 2nd album is already lost to time. You cannot find it. I have contacted the record company and the distributor. I kid you not.
I was pretty much given the OK to give this CD away, as well, as it is out of production and impossible to find.
So if anyone would like the full Glory Bound album, send me a PM.
This is the ONLY YouTube link of the Ratchets, the entire Glory Bound album.
If I had to pick one song for you to listen to...man. Tough call.
"Human Amplifiers" or "Irritated" or... "Skyjack Sunday" or the lone 'ballad' "Born Wrong". (Not really a ballad, just starts out slow).
I have to admit (may have already done this), even though I self-identify as a metalhead/rock guy, I've never been a BIG fan of Metallica. Maybe it's because they were "old news" by the time I came around. I like MANY bands that I know were directly influenced by them.
That said, this song is an exception to that rule and an excellent cover.
