Gmail Not Working

All day today I haven't been able to send or receive emails with my gmail app. When I try to scroll down to view more conversations it just says "no connection". This is will 5 bars of 3G. The regular email app for my other acount works just fine, but the gmail app just wont work. I've had Verizon on the phone for a half hour and they're stumped. Any ideas?

If you are having issue like I did after a failed attempt to send a JPG via Gmail...

Go to Settings-->Accounts & Sync-->select your Gmail account.

If you see that Contacts and Calendar sync, but not mail...

Go to Settings-->Applications-->Manage Applications

Pull up Menu-->Filter

Select "All"

You should now see a list of everything including "Gmail Storage"

Select Gmail Storage

Click on "Clear Data"

Go back and try and sync your gmail....hope that helps.
