Guys, I need a little help...I downloaded the above^^ to my computer, hooked phone to computer,and downloaded to phone, I went into files, and found it, unzipped it...question is,what do i do next?

Omg no no no.... K delete folder, goto where ever u downloaded update.zip an move it to sd not inside a folder k plain sd... Then turn off phone n hold down home button n power button till u see android sign then click the search button n use volume key to move up n down then click camera button when highlighted over apply update then u have then use camera button again after u locate update k hope this helps

I'll give a try and see if this works, I've been known to screw everything when it comes messing with my phone. I see many bricks type head-aches

You won't see the OTA cause you already installed it. You should be good to go. Only people on 2.2.1 Froyo will see it.

Never heard of that one man. Strange. That being said, every X can be rooted and modified. Do you want to recieve the OTA over the air(unrooted)or root it with the official build P3Droid released Saturday?

I tried the apk root and z4root both failed several times.. the apk method install the terminal and titanium backup and said it was rooted but it was a no go. I would love to root. (I build and repair computers for a side buisness so im not a total noon)

I'm thinking maybe you should do a factory reset and clear the cache in stock recovery and try Z4root again once your back up and running. That would hopefully clean things up for you and make you able to root.

Ok so I download the update, install and now I'm on .596 running smooth. Say by the time the OTA hits us early June it's .598 or .601, how can I uninstall .596 and return to froyo so that I can install the official Verizon OTA?
