You can't do OTA updates if you're rooted.

If you want GB, install an already rooted version from the Hack thread.

Can you guide me to where I can find thee info I need to do this. Don't want to brick my phone. Been a while since I rooted and downloaded the tranquility.

I'm on my phone. But let me look around. It's easy once you're already rooted.

The question is do you want to stay rooted or go stock? and if you want to theme or not, because the method of upgrade is different for each options.

If you want to stay on a stock Gingerbread, you just have to sbf back to stock froyo and take the OTA update. Note, there is currently no way to root the OTA GB. However, if you want a pre-rooted GB follow these directions: Official DX Gingerbread 2.3.3 (4.5.596) Release Thread - Something for everyone

I like being rooted. Not a expert but phone seams to operate better. I checked three link out, will give it a try. I think mirror 2 applies to me. Do you know if this wipes my phone? Don't mean to be a pest :}

I can't speak for Method #3 since I went back to stock Froyo and used Method #2. Method #1 and #2 will wipe everything. Are you on on of the GB leaks?

Not on a leak.

After I do this, do I need to root again?

You will need to go back to stock first (sbf to .340) then use method #2 to update. This will give you a pre-rooted GB .596 (oxeded) as you will not be able to get root using Method #1 (for now).

Ok... Sounds like a 2moro project
