Get Rid of Side Bar

This phone has a slide out side bar that you can customize with different apps and is always on top no matter what you're viewing. Is there any way to shut it off? It is way more annoying than a help and I cant find anything to shut it off in settings. Thanks..

Assuming it works the same as the Note II, long press on the back button. It will toggle the multi-window bar on and off.

Thanks for the info! I had the same question. I kept hitting touching it and it would pop out and was annoying. Then it disappeared and I didn't know why. Of course, I then wanted to find out how to get it back. Didn't want it there, just didn't like things disappearing, with no apparent cause. Now, I know.:)

You can also change the area it pops out from too.. Long press and drag bar..

How do you add Apps to the side bar?
I seem to be able to take things on and off that were already there.
But I can get any apps that I've downloaded on the bar.
Thanks

You can't. Those are the apps that support multi wndow. That side bar is used to multi task.

Helpful.....Thanks. I thought it was just a quick launch drawer and didn't know the purpose. Other than saving home screen real estate.
