Freeing up Memory

I added music to my Droid 2, wanted to change what artists I had on my phone so I deleted all the music I had on there. However, none of the space on the memory freed up even after deleting all the music. Even though there is seemingly nothing on there it is saying I only have 16 MB of free space when I should have 4 GB. Need some help.

move all your apps off the the card then format it

Duh...

I was deleting the files from my computer with the phone connected...didn't think to go into the phones trash can and dump that. Did that, space is back!
