Freedom is overrated according to Steve Jobs

Wow...... I'm still amazed that he (CEO) answers people's emails like this..... I'm not a fan of Apple by any stretch of the imagination but the guy is passionate...... I'll say that

He sounds like a nut job to me

Strictly speaking, it was all done through e-mail. So we dont "really" know it was him.

I just don't get how "we'll think for you" is a selling point to anyone. It isn't really about porn. Its about choice. Cant we just have the option to toggle Flash (or whatever) on and off as we please? Why would that be so difficult to do?

And btw - Job's decisions will not prevent someone from displaying porn on his device anyway.

I think it's on the record that the dude has gone on some serious acid trips.

Limiting people's freedom never works. If there's an alternative, people will strive to get there. In the face of competition like Android, Apple is doomed. They're flying pretty high now but people will catch on. Apple...one browser, one email client, one ring to rule them all.

And who is this judgmental Jobs dude to say that porn is so evil. Is sex that evil? I say quashing freedom is evil. Whatever, please don't argue with me. Believe whatever you want. I don't care.

This is what happens when you combine old age, cancer and cancer treatment and pain killers. Call it a "modified" megalomania. The man is so arrogant and self righteous that even though his statements and actions reflect that of someone with the onset of dementia he himself see's them as justifiable and righteous.

At least he is being completely honest about the totalitarian direction of his product. Now people can make an informed decision as to whether that will be acceptable to them or not. I know there are a lot of Apple people that dont have any problem with this at all.

Apple is overrated and their products are overpriced. With that being said does it shock you that Uncle Steve is as high in his horse as he is? Think of those that praise Apple like a cult and Uncle Steve their Messiah and everything is perfect and they will not speak out. Whereas those of us that want freedom whether it be Android, WebOS, WinMo 6.x, etc... will praise said freedom but still bash the product if there are flaws or problems even though we use/own it.
