FoxFi wifi tethering

Hey everyone. I have a Galaxy SIII with Verizon's old unlimited data package. My question is will i get charged extra for using FoxFi as a mobile hotspot? Even though my package is unlimited data is there a certain amount of gig's i should try to keep it under each month?

I recently started using FoxFi, quite heavily, and don't want an outrageous surprise on my cell phone bill. So if anyone else has knowledge of this i'd love to hear it.

I have the unlimited data also and pay for tethering using Foxfi. Works great, better than the hotspot app. My home router now connects to my phone thru Foxfi allowing anything wired or wireless access to the internet. Last time I checked we were up to 6-7 gigs this billing period with no noise from big V. So if your asking from the legal side I can say no problem.

I thought you didn't have to pay for tethering ($20/mon) if you use foxfi? Since I've been using it I notice no usage in the tethering usage report.

That's true... foxfi is a work around... you can use it and not pay for tethering.

I'm confused now. My understanding was tethering with Verizon was $30 monthly on top of the $30 data fee for grandfathered unlimited plans. also thought the ruling excluded grandfathered plans and technically those on the grandfathered plan were not allowed to use 3rd party tether programs?

So am I spending $30 extra a month for nothing, or are you stating that there are " ways " to defeat Verizon's billing system?

Yes... foxfi defeats Verizon's billing system.. so does a simple hack you can do if you're rooted.

You are paying to use their software..

If you think about it, you're paying for using your data twice... not really fair is it?
