Let me start over.... heres what im doing...

I used superoneclick to root...done
downloaded ROM MAN (premium)...
Used rom man to flash CWR...
Now when i boot into recovery from ROM MAN, it takes me to stock Recovery.
I then vol. down to "Apply:Update.zip" And it acts like its installing then takes me back to Stock Recovery.
I dont want to flash a rom, i just want to get to CWR to do a Nandroid backup.
I have a CMWrecovery.rar file that idk what to do with... pls help :\
(I came from a d1, so this is way more work than the d1 even when i had to use .sbf haha)

ok so now I see....u cant use Rom Manager to flash CWM Recovery like you did on the Droid 1, you have to ODIN CWM Recovery...

Here's ODIN: http://adrynalyne.us/files/odin/Odin3v1.3.exe or Odin Restore files to get you to stock - xda-developers

Here's CWM R: http://goo.gl/HELdr

1. Download ODIN
2. Put device in "Download Mode" and connect
- Take out battery
- Hold volume down button and plug device into computer.(you will see it go to download mode)
3.. Start ODIN(when it opens there should be a yellow COM port acknowledging your phone)
4.. Put CWMRecovery.tar in PDA section(never use Phone section) click start
5. When it says reset and your phone screen goes black, unplug it and put in batt and cover and reboot
6. Enjoy!

I cant remember if the ODIN CWR package put an update.zip on your sd card automatically or not, in other words if for some reason you cant get into CWR from say Rom Manager or by manually booting into recovery and applying update.zip
here is the update.zip, http://dl.dropbox.com/u/458252/Fascinate%20Files/update.zip , you may not need it but here it is if u do......just download, make sure its named update.zip and drop it on the root of your sd card...good to go

HELP!! its stuck on zImage. and its says Kernel at top and its just sitting there!
exactly what did you do?

I went thru the steps exactly as you said. when i hit start it started its process, then it just stopped on "zImage" and it says Kernel on top above the yellow lit Com Port box

previous to this are you on DL09, rooted? do you have a custom kernel installed? anything at all modded?

im hoping you didnt get a bad download of CWM Recov...

yea you can try that...make sure the phone boots with no probs first...at worst you may have to ODIN it back to DL09

Now its stuck at setup Connection...
EDIT: It just said 1 failed and turned off my phone. Should i turn it on and see if it boots or should i just try the Odin thing again? Also does it help to say that the CWMr.tar is 800kb?
