Facebook Contacts - don't want them all

Go to contacts click the top bar that says contacts a box will pop and have options of which contacts you want displayed click phone contacts.

Not only do my Facebook friends load into my contacts, but my Facebook inbox message all load into my contacts? What the hell is wrong with this phone? Maybe I should take it back and go get an IPhone. Not impressed with Droid so far.

On showing all my contacts I touch and hold on a Facebook contact that I don't want to keep (contacts: A-Z) and it gives me a menu to "delete contact". I confirm the deletion and it gives me a dialog box that says, "This contact can be deleted from the following address books: Phone Contacts. However, it will still exist on the following providers: Facebook".

It's a long, slow process if you've got hundreds of facebook friends, but I don't know of an easier way to not show up in the phone contacts.

Guys one person above nailed it. This is because of the Motorola Blur on the phone. I have both the original droid and the X. You can correctly download the Facebook app from the market on both but then that is where motorola screwed up.

On the original droid the regular app prompts you to sync all, existing, or none. The X overrides this option and automatically displays the inbox, sync interval timing, entirely skipping the contact sync.

Syncing Facebook contacts on the X requires you to go into Motorola blur's "my accounts" and select only their Facebook app. There it only downloads all of your contacts you have no choice. Also bet a lot of people don't realize it all starts the Motoblur social network app which you CAN NOT adjust, meaning there are no settings.

Motorla truly screwed up this section "My Accounts" because it counter accounts with the official apps you can download straight from the market.

Facebook Contacts

When I first set up my phone I had the same problem, coming from the Moto Droid, there was an option to either link all contacts, or only existing contacts, or none. However in the Droid X there was no option for that. The only solution other than removing the facebook account is to go in contacts in filter it to show only gmail contacts which is all I use anyway coming from the old droid.

when i try to delete mine one by one, i get this message:
To remove this contact from your phone, remove this person from your friends list on the following providers: facebook wth

What I did is got rid of the stock facebook widget. Then downloaded the facebook app from the market. I went to "my accounts" and deleted the facebook account. I can still use the app and my whole friends list isn't in my contacts. I dont know if this will help. Hopefully they will fix the stock widget

I am having this same problem but am seeking a somewhat different solution. Is there a way to bring back the option of current or all facebook contacts? When I was first setting it up I was, stupidly, not paying attention and didn't realize that the all option would pull all contacts from Facebook into my Droid contacts. What I would like to do, is start the app over again, somehow, so that I may choose the correct option this time. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Facebook but it is not giving me the option about syncing contacts again.

Can anyone help?
