How to avoid duping contacts when syncing Facebook?

So I've heard if you put in all your contacts on the phone, then sync with Facebook, it'll duplicate everyone; one for normal, and one for Facebook. How do I avoid this (for past Blackberries I would download Google Sync and it would put all my Google Contacts into my Contact Book)? My phone should come tomorrow

It doesn't dupe everything. Maybe a few contacts, but i never had it happen to me. All my contacts are fine

When it duplicates contacts it's easy to fix, just open your contact list scroll to the first duplicated contact and hit the menu button, then tap the link icon then tap the second copy of the contact and it will merge them into one.
