Exiting Apps (Looking for -Droid Does)

I saw a thread on "phone freezes after unlock" where it was suggested
to use the back button instead of home to exit apps. I remember reading
somewhere else where it said to always use the home button because this
closes the app. I would have thought that would in general be a better
approach in general - and although i don't have much experience- it just
seems more... neater?...orderly?... i'm not sure though... Anyone have any
thoughts, and or knowledge of what the recommended exit strategy is?

I dont think it matters. Android is designed to keep your recently used apps in a ready state, dont worry though, theyre not taking up any additional resources. Some apps you need to back out of or theyll keep going like angry birds or slacker radio. I've never had Any problem with either. Sometimes I press home, sometimes I press back a few times. My phone has never locked up.

The home button is for multi tasking and tells the system you plan on returning. The back button signifies finality and tells the system to treat the app as it will, which leads the system to kill it albeit slowly.

Thanks for the info guys. while i realise this system isn't windows, i wonder
about efficiency issues and resource allocations. more questions to come
