Ever since ICS my battery life is horrible

I cannot take it any more i have to almost have my phone plugged in all the time. 4G too me isn't all that great and i feel it's killing me... Can't turn it off easy that's for sure.

Did you do a factory reset after updating to ics? That solves most problems that come up during the transition.

Mine has been bad too. I did do the factory reset along with installing a cache cleaner. I can't get a full day out of my phone unless I change to 3g only which isn't a solution for me. Its more of a band aid instead of a fix. I want a fix. I did do the. 215 update but battery life isn't much better as far as I can tell.

For me I've not really had any issues with my RAZR and don't want to pay for a new phone till my unlimited data runs out so I'm looking for options too.

Download an app called "lte on/off" it's for the htc thunderbolt but works great on the RAZR. Then select "cdma auto (prl)" that will easily turn off your 4g.

Maybe you should consider buying one of the maxx battery kits. They are around $130. (a lot cheaper than a new phone) and you'll have as good or better battery than anyone else

I have thought about that but I don't trust myself to do that swap without fear of damaging it. I called several places near me to see if they would do it and none of them will touch it.

In the end I think I'll get the RAZR maxx HD when the price comes down.

I did factory reset and loaded htc on off we'll see how it goes after a few days. Why is it when iphone says you get 12 hours you get 12 hours but droid says you get 20 and you get 5. I'm almost ready to ditch droid with all its gliches..

Fully charged phone moderate use today after 6hours battery died.. that just sux..

Have you done a battery meter training? (foxkatting is what some of us call it) With power off, charge to 100% then use normally till you get the hook to charger notice at 10% and power off and charge to 100% again. This can make a huge difference.

Poor battery life is almost always caused by the same things. Usually an app is draining it or poor signal. I don't get good reception at my girlfriend's house and it's shocking how quickly my battery drains. Using your phone as a wifi hot spot will also drain battery quickly. I'm gonna go ahead and call BS on "conditioning" your battery. I've never had to do this. It may help to some degree, but I doubt very seriously you are going to go from horrible battery life to amazing battery life. Factory reset is not a cure all either. If you don't get a good signal or you reinstall the same apps, it's not going to help at all. You need to check your battery stats and maybe that will lead you to a solution. There is the possibility too that it is just a bad battery.

To be clear, battery conditioning is not the same as meter training. Also, you can buy cases with the extra battery built in now a days, seidio? I forget the brand :(.

I agree that battery training is BS. I removed the Weather Channel and shaved my beard we'll see how that works..

The battery training is not b.s. foxkat could give you the specifics, I can only tell you that I increased mine 15 to 20 percent simply by training it after I updated to ics
