All these tips floating around basically telling us to strip our phones down to bare bones with nothing on it...LOL...this phone was designed by HTC to be a widget machine. I've never seen so many choices of widgets right out of the box from any phone company & I'm gonna use em!!

I don't care if my battery drains, at least I'll enjoy my phone for what it was intended for!

Oh & BTW...I'm leaving 4G on as well, before this phone came out everyone was like, OMG I can't wait till I have 4G speed!! Now people are asking how they can turn it off? LMAO I can understand its all for the battery, but c'mon people get chargers at the places your at the most, that simple!

Ok so I'll adjust my brightness & maybe do some other tweaks but I'm not disabling the best features this phone has to offer!!

Comments...:welcome:

Got the extended battery, can go all day and beat the living crap out of the phone. Just doesn't make sense to shut down all of the features we wanted to begin with. Great phone on an awesome network.

Yea...I only disabled 4G cause I don't have it in my area. I agree 100% with OP...chargers were made for a reason. I love all the HTC widgets...GMail, Friend Stream...only with there was a widget for the forums I go to the most!! Anyway, love the phone!!

The widgets I'm upset they left out is HTC Hub & Book Shelf, had the Inspire & it came preloaded with "My Book Shelf" & had like 10 books loaded on it. Also the hub which has way more downloadable widgets than the current "Get More from HTC".

Hope someone ports this over or comes with the next OTA!

I thought about starting a thread titled " STOP COMPLAINING AND ENJOY YOUR PHONE FOR WHAT IT IS" but I think this thread conveys that without being rude, lol. Honestly my battery life isn't that bad and I hardly put it down. I can understand the people that have questions on how to do something, but how many threads do we really need for people to complain. Just once I'd like to come on here and read some posts about cool new features the community found.

ThunderBolt- non rooted (for now)

I'm on my 4th day with the phone and I can honestly say it has improved daily! Today my battery is still showing at 100% (don't have the widget that shows the exact amount)... but it hasn't dropped in the 4 hours i've had it off the charger. I have sent numerous texts, browsed the web, checked and sent emails and downloaded a few updates for apps. It's been working great and I am truly happy with the phone in every way.

There are some people that seem to be so negative towards this device that it makes you wonder why they even bothered getting it. I have a long history of smart phones going back to the early Win mobile devices... if anyone suffered through those, the Tbolt is leaps and bounds better as it's actually a fully functional mini computer in your pocket. Not a glorified E-Mail machine that is about as reliable as a Yugo in the desert.

I use my phone and removed everything I don't use. Kindle, blockbuster, cityid, vzw crap and social networking don't belong on my phone.

Not concerned too much with battery life but I'd like to be able to go out at night and not have to worry about it going dead if I need it in an emergency.

I turn my display down to 20% (the stock auto setting has an insane brightness that is completely uneccesary) and I bump charged my battery. I did turn off background syncs on things I really don't care about...like weather reports...I can look out the window and tell you if it is raining. But my widgets are loaded...live screens are loaded. I got 12 hours out of my battery yesterday and the last 5 hours was pretty heavy usage and I had 36% left when I plugged it in at 10:30 pm.

If you look at your battery states you'll see that very little battery power is consumed by all that other "Bloat Ware". 90% of your battery savings wil;l come from screen brightness...and the rest is stored in the top of your battery that the phone des not realize it can use.

Bump charging may reduce the useful life of my battery but batteries are cheap. I'll buy another one when this one quits working...or I'll get a new one when I trade this phone up in 2 years. Just likie i did with the OGDroid. Speaking of which...I still have a brand new spar battery for the OG Droid that I bought when someone told me I was going to ruin my battery. Never had to take it out of it's original wrapper. WTH am I going to do with that thing? LOL

Finally I have found a thread that tells it like it is. I've had the phone for a week and absolutely LOVE it!!! I have left everything running and live and work in a 4G area. When I read the posts about poor battery life it makes me scratch my head. I easily get a full day and more out of my stock battery without bump charging or changing settings that would make my phone any less than the best. Everything is set to sync.....which by the way is so freaking fast I don't think it would use much battery if it tried. Out the box I started downloading apps and actually missed a few cause I blinked and they were done. Seriously, no exaggeration. This phone is top shelf. Use it, enjoy it, and stop nit picking. I'm out!!

finally thunderboltin' and lovin it!!!!!

as it is with all other thing you cant please everybody.I ready a lost of different reviiews of the bolt and then decided to go with it, as long as u are happy with it thats all that really matters

I have been tired reading about all the battery issues. The truth is I got sucked into all the tips. Until I woke up and reset my phone back to factory and turned down my display. My phone lay just fine through out the day. I could kill a iPhone battery just as quick as this in. Enjoy the phone!!

I am another happy TBolter. My lil Sparky gets along fine throughout the day and I am using live wallpapers, have 5 email accounts that sync every 30 mins as well as weatherbug elite that syncs on the hour. My screen is set to about 30% brightness. I easily go 10 hours and that's on a heavy usage day for me.
