Email Setup?

My school distributes an email account to every student and teacher. After nearly a year of having my awesome Droid (original) I have become attached to it, and asked my technology teacher if i could set up my email account with my phone, and he tried and it constantly said i had an incorrect password and information, when the contrary was true. It is an imap format email account, and i will try to get more information if it is necessary about the server information, but the school website is down. Any tips?

Thanksss a bunch! I'll try this tonite and if it works I'll tell my technology teacher, my mail client is novell groupwise, so I should have quoted that..
