Early upgrade

I have been told that verizon will let you upgrade pretty early if you ask them? I was wondering how early. I'm only 8 months into my contract, with a year to go before I can upgrade. Will verizon let me upgrade early still? If so, who is best to talk to, just any replies in the store?

They wont let you upgrade THAT early, after 20 months (-2 months per year) you can "early upgrade" though.
