1. Power down
2. Remove the back cover, battery, SD card and SIM card.
3. Power back up, let the phone come all the way back up and tell you that you can only do "emergency calls only"
4. Power down
5. Reinstall SIM card, SD card, battery and back cover.
6. Power back on and let the phone boot normally.
Isn't there a step missing between 2 and 3? Don't you need to reinstall the battery?
I have been having Data Drops for about 2-3 weeks, prior to the update. Update didn't solve problem.
I tried resetting SIM card, and the Airplane Mode trick, neither of those worked.
I called Verizon and the rep "Refreshed the VLR" and so far after about 3 hours, no data drops.
I hope this solves the problem.
Thanks, I was wondering the same thing. VLR... maybe Verizon Loss Re-storer, Verizon Lacks Radio, Very Lame Refurb, rofl!

I'd really just like to know so that I know what I'm asking for when calling them. If it does fix things however, they can call it whatever they want! Just Fix It Verizon!!!...so we'll then call that the JFI. Who cares...GET THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED Verizon!
Whenever VZW rolls out more LTE markets it affects the towers, firmware, etc. nationwide. Wait a couple of days and it should be back to normal.
