Droid X2 verizon is running extremely slow (please help)

Hello Droid forums,

I have been experiencing problems with my Droid X2 lately and it been running extremely slow. While searching Google i found other owners of the Droid x2 phone that have been having the same problems, so my solution was to flash the droid x2. I am currently running Go sMS pro, Swift key 3 for keyboard and ADW EX for my launcher which is very light. Go sms pro launcher use to be my default until i found out it was slowing down my phone.

For a first time root users i have rooted a kindle fire so i not worried about the steps to flash the droid x2 i am more concerned about which ROM i should use that would speed up my phone? Reading other forums by searching google alot of users have been recommending the CM7 ROM, but i heard that their might be some potential problems with the camera or video? Can anyone give me good recommendation of which ROM to use that has all the feature the current rom my phone is running has, but its optimized, so i can speed up my slow droid x2? Also my Droid X2 is running 2.3.5 Ginger bread. Would i have to downgrade to install a ROM i take it?

From this site i was looking at ROMs, but i would like to get overall feedback from experience on which Roms are best instead of narrowing down my choices by features.

rom-jb-cyanogenmod-10-a-2. looks promising, but has anyone had good experience vs teh CM7?

Problem experiencing with default ROM
- slow prompt phone dialer
- slow SMS loading
- freezing and can't no longer multitask without crashing browser apps.
- Phone completely slows down after using browser
- someone connects to call and ends the call right away since the phone is so slow.

Can you please help me get my phone working faster Im running out of options and flashing im thinking in my mind is best to fix this issue. Please help!

ps not sure this is in the right forum :/

Thanks i was thinking about CM7 would be my best bet out of the three you listed. Has anyone ever had activation issue after flashing the CM7 that would be my only concern to get my phone working like it should.

From my understanding i am on 2.3.5.418 version of ginger bread and i would have to use the SBF to go back to the stock 2.3.4 which would require activation. After i go to the stock and i can flash the CM7 Rom, but has anyone had any activation issues through Verizon after flashing back to stock and flashing cm7? I need working phone after flashing i worried i might have issue with activation, since im on my third droid x2 and its refurbished that had little problem with automatically activating i had to go to Verizon to fix it.

also i have watched these videos from this guy on you tube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF2E4A4DC5C14BA1E can you confirm that his way is the correct way to flash or would you recommend Xda developer instructions cm7?

You linked to his entire playist so I'm not sure which vid in particular you meant. All you have to do is SBF, then wipe data, wipe cache, and flash the CM7 & Gapps zips. Activation shouldn't be an issue.

Had the X2 for a long time. No activation issues. XDA is where the developer himself (dragonzkiller) posts the ROM so follow those instructions.

SBF to 2.3.4, root using Pete's one click, install normal BSR, flash CM7, GApps, wipe data, wipe cache and reboot then install the CM7 patched BSR.

Edit: I can also confirm that Toms videos are legitimate. I know him from XDA.

Here is Pete's One Click Root: https://www.dropbox.com/s/u25qyy883iae4dy/PetesMotorolaRootTools_v1.07.zip (On your phone go to settings - applications and check "unknown sources" also in Settings - Applications - Development turn on "USB Debuggin" before you run this tool.)

Here is the normal BSR: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o0gbv71dwy5lhc4/MOTODX2_Bootstrap_signed.apk (To install this, copy the file to your external SD card after you are rooted. Browse to it with your file manager, click on it and choose install. You will now have an app called "System Recovery.)

Download CM7, GApps and Patched BSR from here: [UPDATED 4/20][ROM]CyanogenMod 7.2.0-RC1 X2 [BETA] - xda-developers
