droid x virtual keyboard wont come up

I have a droid x w/the froyo 2.2 update and frequently when I try to access the "what's on your mind" area of facebook it highlights the box but the virtual keyboard does not come up. This happens on both dolphin HD and the built in browser. It's not every time but very frequently. I dont know what the problem is. Anyone have similar issues and know what to do about it?

:welcome:to the forums. I have heard about a few other people having troubles with the key board. I am asking to have this thread moved to the X Rescue Squad section for further help.

Hi. I am also having this problem. As far as I can tell it only happens when I'm on Facebook (via default browser). It's like the OP said I cannot update my status or write on people's wall. When I tap these white spaces it becomes highlighted but the keyboard does not pop up. Again only noticing this on certain parts of facebook. Any fixes or help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I use the social status widget to update my facebook about 99.99999% of the time, but haven't experienced this issue at all on any website using the stock browser.

Have you tried the simple fix of restarting the phone?

I'll play around in the next day or so to see if I can recreate the issue...

I'm having the same problem

the phone is only 2 days old and I'm having the same keyboard issue. I'll touch the text box to enter text and nothing happens. Touch longer and the dialog for "choose input method" appears, but selecting either method still results in no keyboard appearing.
(It may go back to Costo this afternoon!)
