Droid X is no longer recognized by my PC

I think this started happening after I rooted my X a few days ago. Ever since when I plug it into my PC it not only will not charge, but Windows 7 does not recognize it. When I first got it this was not an issue. The only way I can charge it now is from a wall outlet. Plus I cannot transfer files back and forth, obviously. What am I missing?

New to the community, and I did a search and looked around for about 20 minutes did not see any answers that applied to my issue. Thanks in advance for any help.

try a different usb port, check the device manager

check your cable for any ware and tare

try the x on a differnet computer

check the settings if you have a custom rom installed
the usb may be hidden in the custom settings.

hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I have tried two different computers, and two different cables. I know the cable is good, works for a friends Droid. The issue has to be on my Droid somewhere.

I have seen on other threads that there should be an option to "mount" under the top screen banner. I never get this option. I have gone through all of the settings (pretty sure) and see no option to enable this. I just don't know what I am missing.

did you do a backup? try going back through your backups one by one
untill your "mount" works again. Once it does continue customizing your
ROM/droid from there.

If you dont have any backups try re-rooting your phone over again from
step 1. Maybe something didnt install correctly the first time.

I did a reboot of the phone while connected to my PC, and on reboot it connected right up. I tried the same thing on my home computer last night and it did not connect. I will go through my back up settings and see if something has been disabled. Thanks for the advice.
