That's what's weird for me. After a couple hundred of these I have always had to delete the last 2. Not once have I got 262080 after deleting the first 54. Weird huh?

The 2 bytes is necessary when using bitmaps saved with Photoshop and maybe gimp. I forget exactly why though

Weird... I'm using gimp and everytime, I delete the 54, and the number is right on. I also have tested every logo and they've all worked fine. Not sure why, maybe I've just been really lucky

That's why I said maybe, it was a guess. Now I'm guessing it's just Photoshop. I still don't remember why.

Here you go. I cropped the second one heightwise as much as I could, but it's still pretty small. Max height on these is 182px, ~1/5 of the screen height, unfortunately.

Here's previews for the boot logos from the D1 Hacks thread, http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-hacks/81766-custom-boot-logos-who-wants-one.html. All of the attached are mine so far, but eventually I'll go through page by page and save all of them from day one. This attachment is small enough to just dload and extract if you wanna see what's been done. Droid 2 and DX users just say which ones you want and I can quickly post the bmp here for someone to convert to D2/DX boot logo replacer zip (or convert the preview if you like.) I also know exactly which page each of them are on and can post a link for D1 users.

When I'm done cataloging or sooner, I'm going to start a thread in the Droid Hacks forum and update it as we go along. It won't exactly be a gallery, but you can DL and see all the previews much more quickly than browsing all 100 pages of either of these threads. I'll also try to associate them with a link to where they are posted. How's about we combine both sets of previews in one location we can link to in posts/sigs? We could grab the first 2 posts and update them occasionally and call it a collection.

If it's too much work, I understand. The more I type the more I wonder. :unsure: Thoughts?

5 is the max for everyone, but we can easily edit and replace attachments or links.

Yeah that's sort of what I'm thinking. I love the idea of a gallery of these, but I don't think the admins would go for that. I didn't get the impression they want to mess with it much. Not that I blame them, the boot logos aren't usable much between phones like wallpapers. Plus, as we've stated these may all be obsolete within a year or so.

Also, are we talking puttin dl links in the new thread or just links to original posts?
I have no problem converting the pics in your zip to bmp (just did one of yours and it looks great) so don't worry about that, if DXer's want one of yours it'll take me about 15 sec longer lol.

The best looking thread might be to place inline thumbnails linked to their original posts. The easiest might be to just place attachments of the previews and txt files with links to posts inside.

For example, here's some thumbnails, generated automatically by the forum (and therefore hosted here) and linked to some of my fav blogos. To do this, first copy the image location of the thumbnail and dupe it into the new post. Then copy the source post link, select the newly duped image and use link button in message builder and voila:




I can place many more of these inline images, though I don't know the limit, if any. It's almost a gallery, no?
