Droid X Custom Boot Logo I'll create

For example, here's some thumbnails, generated automatically by the forum (and therefore hosted here) and linked to some of my fav blogos. To do this, first copy the image location of the thumbnail and dupe it into the new post. Then copy the source post link, select the newly duped image and use link button in message builder and voila:

I can place many more of these inline images, though I don't know the limit, if any. It's almost a gallery, no?

When I click on these in the droidforums app, it just opens up the thumb as an image, it doesn't go to the link... I know I prefer to download these directly to the phone instead of messing with the computer. Not sure why, but it seems like app always has issues with links :-\

I'm pretty sure Midgetgrimm didn't bail. I do talk to him often. he's sneaky and somewhere:)

Lol ya I'm sure he's busy like the rest of us... he had said he would get back the next day in his last post and never did so I figured he had decided the whole library idea was too much work. Again, I wouldn't blame him a bit and I meant no disrespect as he has already invested a lot of time in these forums. :-)

That's definitely something of a concern, I know many people use the app for regular visits and I've noticed the same. Though they don't look great, they're good enough to tell you if what you are looking for is available or not. Plus I think the links issue is one tapatalk should iron out.

Either way it's not ideal but I kinda like it. Another option would be to link to the full size previews attached in source post and provide a text link for app users. Another step or two....

another thing about that, I know you. D2 and DX users can do this entirely from your phones, but us D1 ppl need a PC with rsdlite to flash the sbf. :-(

I wonder if it would be worth it to look into some free webpage sites like Google pages... see if they provide enough storage space for something like this, or even just use it for previews and links. Then if we could get the op's to add a link to check there first before requesting. We could set up an account and me, you, chkm8, etc. could all have the password and update it periodically when we do a few new ones.
I could look into that route tonight (having a birthday party for my boy today) if that works for you.

Edit: just realized I got the 1400th post :-)

I'm not against it :) I guess we might need admin approval to link back to DF? Whatever works.

Oh and have fun with the party.

Hey doc, that's a great idea, don't know where you can upload attachments directly though, you might have to look at other options though if you want to upload attachments directly. I have uploaded chkmate bootlogo to an IMG source, they are all here. Complete with links.

Now we either we need to take the time to upload the .zips to a fileshare one by one, or if you can upload about 150 at once, that would be great. Then it would just take someone to check out and move the last 30 post that have new bootlogos in them to the new forum. I have about 60%of the IMG links copy and pasted to a notepad so I can just move them to the new Topic Post. Problem now is I would also have to label each pic or the user would have to have to link at the link for the name and then find the appropriate zip file.

So that is where I am, sorry I have been busy this week. Hoping to put in some more time this next weekend, we'll see. I appreciate all the work a lot of people do in here, and I am sure you guys do too >)

Please and thank you :). The txt isn't visible as it is white. could you place it on a black background? Don't let my default phone fool you, i would like this for the Droid X. (i already posted a request for this on the droid og too)

Has anyone had any issue with alpha channels?
Sometimes while making a bootlogo when I go to save it wont export the layers properly, gives me an alpha channel warning and I can't convert to 24 bit. Which then leaves the file less than 10kb, which is nowhere near the 262080 bytes required.
This only happens occasionally and I have had one fail that someone else made work. Any ideas? I hate having to abandon a logo right as I finish it.

I've had that happen a few times. Best I can tell, it happens when I start with a GIF file. No idea why that is but that seems to be the issue. I've tried converting to JPEG first and still have problems. :-\
