Droid stuck in reboot loop.

so i've never posted anything on these forums or anything. but i've had my motorola droid for no more than a week and a half...and i turned it off today and attempted turning it back on and it showed the motorola emblem and the droid logo and then the eye and then went back to the droid emblem and then began doing the endless cycle. any advice on how to recover from this..or is it completely useless to try saving it?

if ur rooted then get to spf and do a wipe and reinstall your room. if not then try holding x on the keypad when you turn the phone on until you get into recovery mode. you also could have a messed up phone which should be under warrenty

Take the battery out, then take the memory card out. Reinstall the battery without putting the memory card back. See if it boots without the card.

You may want to try flashing the sbf file again using RSDLITE to reload the Rom. Otherwise if you are under warranty yuu can replace it.

It could be because of a recent app you installed or a OS file got corrupted either way if your able to get it to the bootloader you could put SPRecovery on it and do a wipe of everything and see if the phone boots up normally.

1. Take out the battery
2. if you could put that battery in and the phone not turn on, put in the battery, if it turns on automatically your going to have to press and hold the d-pad up before you put in the battery
2a. press the d-pad up and press the power button and hold it until you can get to a boot loader screen

Once you get to that boot loader your screen your phone is fine able to be rooted.

Or you could just look up how to do a factory wipe on google....

Or you could just find a guide on here on how to root your phone if my walkthrough doesn't make sense

Does the battery have a full charge?

+1

If the phone even thinks the battery isn't charged enough it won't boot up. It will cycle through the boot process until it does have enough of a charge. I say "thinks" because there are times the battery is fine, but the system doesn't think it is.

1) Put the phone on the wall charger. Make sure the little white LED is lit up where the cord goes into the phone. Give it a couple of hours.

2) Let us know which phone you have. DroidX, Inc, Original Droid, etc

I'm not sure how the advice to root the phone when a stock phone won't boot up is going to resolve the issue. If the stock phone is having issues I wouldn't go altering things. With it being a week old and non-rooted you can bring it back to the store if the charging doesn't help.
