droid screen not turning on.. need help

Okay, so I've had this droid for over a year now and it has been rooted almost the entire time that I've had it with no problems. Well, a few months ago my phone turned off for no reason and now when i power it on, the screen is black, but the buttons light up and my LED notification blinks green as if I have a text. I tried everything I could think of from trying to pull the battery out all the way to RSD Lite and nothing has worked. The touch screen even responds, I can unlock the phone when it's powered on. I can tell everything is buggy though when I touch buttons because the button's light flash on and off. I don't know what happened, there isn't any water damage and I didn't drop the phone when this happened. It's been like this for months and still won't work to this day. Anyone with suggestions would be helpful, I will also accept the fact that it might be completely dead and beyond repair haha.
