Droid is freezing/music is messed up

I received my 2.2 update last week. Almost immediately, my phone froze -- I took out the battery and that took care of the problem temporarily. I also noticed right after the update that the names of artists had been erased on many of my mp3s.

Today my phone froze again when I opened up the music app. I took out the battery, but the phone keeps freezing.

Does anyone have thoughts as to what could be the problem here?
