Droid Incredible shut down

I've been having issues with my incredible shutting down while connected to my car charger. I don't think It's overheating. Everytime it happens I have to pull the battery to get it to reboot. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

What brand is recommended?

I'd tell them what happened, see if they have a stock one. Absent that, a verizon branded one.
