Droid 3 or Bionic?

Well after reading your posts I went to Verizon and ordered a droid 3. Turns out I qualified for buy one get one free. So 2 Droid 3's for $280 including tax. Get to keep my unlimited data plan, and wife gets a new phone as well.

Phones are arriving at my house tomorrow, and wifey should be happy. So kingdom is happy, at least for another week.

im actually trying to decide between the Bionic or galaxy S2

but D3 is looking better and better because 1. the price tag & deals going on for it. 2. being global. 3. slide out QWERTY

I can say that with that keyboard this makes the D3 worth it. I can't explain to people how nice the dedicated row for numbers is. Putting in passwords, website urls, anything. You don't actually have to slow down for a second typing to find the function button and press it.

As for the display I definitely see the pixelation. On the battery, the market and things like that. However I can only really notice if its like 3 inches away. So thankfully I'm not 80 years old and have to have it that close. The resolution and brightness (espicially outdoors in full daylight) makes it so you don't need it that close. Move it away a bit and enjoy how good that screen actually looks.

For my final note if you worried about blur it's not that bad. Granted after a day I loaded go launcher on there. More customization and features baby! But the notification bar is actually really nice. I used to just want black but I'm really liking the blue. Secondly the Lockscreen is really cool too. Something I haven't seen before and in my opinion is very clean. Now we just need root access for removal of bloat ware and this phone will truly shine.

I was holding out for the Bionic and then came to the conclusion that the D3 was for me for these reasons:

  1. I have an OG Droid and use the keyboard a lot. I love the D3 keyboard.
  2. I have a Xoom. When upgraded to 4G, that's were I'll do most of my data/internet stuff rather than my phone so I won't probably care about differences between 3G or LTE on my phone.
  3. My new D3 feels noticeably larger in my pocket than my OG Driod. I can imagine that the Bionic would feel like a mini-tablet in my pocket.

I am thrilled with my D3 decision. While the Bionic may have a better coolness factor, my D3 + Xoom combo is the most practical solution for me. The D3 is a huge upgrade from my OG from keyboard, to battery life, to performance.

I'd have to agree, I felt the same way with my Xoom and Droid 3.. like a good match without overkill. lol
