Droid 2 becomes unusable after rooting

I had a rooted D2 for 3 months with no problems. Stock rom and bloatware frozen. Randomly, my screen would not turn on from sleep and my phone would constantly hang for a few seconds. It become so unresponsive it was basically unusable. I unrooted then did a factory reset. This solved all the problems. Every time I try to root again with z4 root the same problem happens. The phone becomes so unresponsive and sluggish. Has this happened to anyone? Is there a way to fix it?

Well I didn't root with z4 and my phone has been totally fine for 6 months try 1 of the easy methods using terminal
