does the GPS toggle widget use battery?

I have three screens with different types of apps, and those apps use GPS. For convenience, I'd like to put the GPS toggle widget on each screen. Is this using a more battery than just an icon? Is the widget really doing anything?

Nah. The widgets that use a lot of battery are ones that do lots of flashy animations constantly or do a lot of network activity.

Personally I just keep my GPS on all the time. It doesn't seem to use up more battery because it only turns on when it needs to for an app. Better than constantly hitting a widget to turn it off and on...
