delete old sms messages

is there a way to not have the phone set a limit on the sms messages.

i know handcent will store as many as u want if its the latter..

you can have a max of 999 per conversation and the stock sms will delete them the sms app on the droid 1 let you disable this and could have unlimited handsent only shows whats in the stock apk. is there a wat to go back to the d1 sms apk.
