debugging issues

Okay so i searched this forum and everywhere else on google but i cant find anyone with my problem , either that or im to stupid to find it? Well the problem is i put the gingerbread 2.3 rom on my droid 2, after this i wanted to try the liberty rom so i needed to root it again. But when i connect my droid to the computer whether its in pc mode or charge only mode or usb mass storage mode usb debugging doesn't turn on. Yes its turned on in my settings. I have deleted all the motoralla drivers off my computer and reinstalled them and usb debugging still wont turn on , so since that wont turn on i cant root my phone Any suggestions?

No I haven't, I have looked everywhere on the internet and I can't find anything. I even tried booting my phone in recovery code manually it wouldn't work.
