DE on Kangerade?

Any one got Dark Edge UI working on Kangerade because some users claim its possible but xeudoxus never said it would work on source built 2.2 roms on his post. Any one able to help me out?

Ive been trying to get any theme to work on 5.0.9 stock theme but everything i try gives me a black screen with notification bar. I can get past it if I put it in the dock them home button out of the clock. I've tried purple passion and the HTC deodexed black notification bar setup. I had to wipe or restore every time.
