I dropped my X off of my bike yesterday at around 45 mph. Good news battery popped out, and I found the back, battery, and the phone. I put the battery back in it fired back up. The screen is still perfect. However the housing is all screwed up. It broke the bottom cover below the buttons off, and it is dinged all around the edges.
I was wondering will insurance replace it, even though the phone is still working, just all messed up.

I would say possibly if the buttons on the bottom are exposed as they could maybe fall out ;)...It never hurts to try...

Yup didn't check that, but they are able to be moved now. It also exposed the circuit board underneath. I suppose I could just call and find out.
Thanks,

I would, you pay for it so it sounds like it could be a reason to use it... :)

I think there is a $90 fee to get it replaced if you have insurance. But if you don't then you have to buy a new phone outright .dancedroid

Luckily I always get the insurance. It isn't the first time I damaged a phone.

umm..just a crazy idea..you have insurance...you're going to have to pay a deductible.. JUST DESTROY THE PHONE..wtf? simple enough.

Yes mine is $89 dollars which is far better than the $600 full price...

Some pics of the bottom.
The other damage is too small to really show up. It is just some dings on the corners. The screen is still perfect.
I ordered a replacement through insurance.

What screen protector do you have on there?

It was funny I just put my new one on yesterday, right before going out.
I put the Steinheil Ultra Crystal Clear screen protector on. It seems like it apparently does the job. It is probably the third one I tried on this phone. Best one so far. Luckily it comes with two.
