Hey folks,

I just bought a Droid X for $60 on eBay listed as "mint condition," except for a software issue. Evidently, the phone has an issue with contacts. Seller says you can not add or delete conacts. Has anyone heard of this? Can I fix it with an SBF? I have plenty of expperience with my Droid 2. I feel that if I can fix that, I got the phone for a steal.

Thanks!

Yeah, I'm definitely thinking that should do it. Ever heard of that issue?

No i really haven't but an sbf should fix just about any software related issues which is what is sounds like. You got a great deal on it hopefully everything works out for you.

UPDATE: SBFing worked, although I had major issues completing the SBF. Now on a great Droid X running Liberty 3

Now you have a perfect phone for a great price. Just curious what issue did you have sbfing?

Using RSD_Lite 5.6, bootloader 30.03, I could not get past the "Error downloading RAM..." error described at http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-x-rooted-help/80551-sbf-keeps-failing.html. I tried the suggestions in the forum, and it still would not work. Interestingly enough, I managed to get a Froyo SBF to work, but it would not detect a Software Update, so I tried to SBF to .602. I got to .602 even though the error still persisted in RSD Lite, but the System Update (I assume to .605) failed, and I was unable to detect it again. I'm thinking I should probably install the 30.04 bootloader to resolve these issues, but I'm rooted and running Liberty 3 just fine now. I just don't look forward to my next SBF on this thing given how the first one went

Another update: updated bootloader to 30.04, and flashed .602 perfectly. Took the OTA to .605 and am back on Liberty3.
