Contacts from Gmail went to notes

My buddy just picked up the Droid and tried to download his contacts from My Back Up Assitant. Well they synced over but into his "Notes" section instead of his phone numbers. Any suggestions on how to move them over?

My backup assistant, IMHO is not the right way to transfer contacts from your old phone to the Droid. I would make sure you have a gmail account set up before attempting to do anything.

One thing you might try. Those contacts may very well be on your SD card. Go to Contacts/menu button/import-export/ and select import from SD card. If this doesn't work take it to Verizon and tell them what happened.
