cheapdroids.com is a fraud?

I joined this forum just to update this thread with personal experience.

I placed an order with these scammers, and have not received it yet. In place of the mount I ordered, a small envelope showed up today with 7 small packages of 'Fein Energy Crystals' from a company called Online Energy Inc. Included in the envelope was a note stating that this was my 7 day free trial which would automatically convert to a $9.99/month subscription for 30 packets unless I cancelled my 'membership'

Online Energy Inc. has the same Tampa address (5001 N. Coolidge Ave) as cheapdroids.

I have already put in a request at the BBB for a report to be created on them. I will file a complaint tomorrow if I can't get this resolved. I'll post back here with the outcome.

Save yourselves the trouble, and buy your stuff somewhere else.

Well, to be fair, I have to update.

I got in touch with cheapdroids. My order hadn't shipped yet, so I was able to cancel the order...no questions asked, no re-stocking fee, and no 'bank fee'. I was also able to cancel my 'membership' for the energy crystals, also with no questions asked, and without getting the runaround of having to call the other company number - which I totally expected.

At least they are not outright thieves. I would still avoid doing business with them. I know they will never see my money again.
 
Yeah, I just ordered from them and I am already having problems getting a case shipped, and I gave them my cc. Not cool.
 
Backorder Emails - Not Really

Ironic, because I never got any emails about backorder, and the "ETA" date passed. I inquired and they sent me an invoice that was edited with the ETA date reflecting a month later, and a condescending reply, which made matters even worse. No professionalism tells me they are not interested in keeping customers or doing any QA.

Yep... same people... CheapDroids and Online Energy.

Check out post #13 from this very thread where the manager from CheapDroids makes the following comment:

jwahler, please PM me your information and I will look into the status of your order. We had a problem initially where the system wasn't sending backorder emails but this has now been resolved.

If anyone else has had any problems, please PM me and I will take care of it personally.

Notice how he says they're owned by Online Wireless Inc? Well, if you check out Online Wireless over on www . CorporationWiki . com you will notice that Online Wireless and Online Energy are related companies.

No they are not legit, I ordered two things from them and found it cheaper 10 minutes later and then canceled my order. They said the order was canced and then two days ago 3 weeks after I canceled the order, the invoice came in my e-mail again I replied stating this had been canceled. No reply and half the order showed up today. Tryed to call them but guess what they had a recording saying they would be taking calls after the 18th of August until 8 pm. well it is after aug 18th I called at 5pm.

They are a fly by night company avoid at all costs they will stick it to you. Seriously avoid them avoid getting taken

I'm not done with them yet!
 
I bought two of the green droid figures from store.cheapdroids.com because the Andrew Bell site is out of stock, and they arrived in plain packaging and were discolored and obviously not built well. I emailed inquiring about their authenticity and cheapdroids customer service admitted they're fake! I'm asking for a refund but don't know if I'll get it. Don't buy this site's counterfeit merchandise!

They may fabricate positive reviews and even suggest calling them for solving the problem, but that does not save them from being a complete scum. Like quite a few guys at this forum, I ordered an item which was stated as 'in stock' at their site. Four days passed - with no word from them whatsoever at my email. I called them and was said that blah-blah-blah sorry we expect the item to come to our stock next Thursday, we'll ship immediately. Called them Friday afternoon. Again - blah-blah-blah, we'll be damned if the item does not come to our stock next Tuesday... I canceled the order on the spot. Three days later I discovered on my bank account that they had refunded me okay - EXCEPT WITHHOLDING ABOUT $1.5 AS A BANKING FEE! Naturally, after having shopped online for about ten years and never experienced anything of the kind, I called them and demanded explanations - having heard in response nothing but arrogant gibberish. I called my bank and claimed a disputed charge. They told me to wait until 30 days passed to place a formal claim. On the day I placed the claim and got assurances from the bank that the charge was groundless and that they would call the crooks to order. Yesterday, after quite a time, I received a letter from the bank that they had credited my account just IN VIEW OF MY BEING THEIR VALUED CUSTOMER, that they failed to collect the wrongly charged money from the vendor, and that in future I should contact the merchant directly...

Since the latter suggestion, in view of what happened, appears senseless, what guys and gals like me are supposed to do? To sue them in court? For a dollar and a half?!. That is exactly what those scums count upon: Nobody would waste his/her time and mental health for that kind of money. And now, I'm wondering how many people a day/week/month/year visit their godforsaken site and take the bite...

It is interesting that no one here has private messaged me about their orders even when I stepped in and tried to help out. I also find it interesting that a lot of the posts in this thread are from people with only 1 post. So just to set a few things straight.

WE DO HAVE OUR OWN INVENTORY. WE DO NOT DROP SHIP.

WE DO NOT CHARGE ANY BANKING FEE FOR REFUNDS. WE HAD THIS WHEN WE FIRST OPENED THE STORE BUT HAVE REMOVED IT MONTHS AGO. (THE ABOVE IS A BLATANT LIE)

WE LIST AVAILABILITY DATES ON ALL ITEMS AS WELL AS YOUR INVOICE ONCE YOU PLACED THE ORDER, JUST LIKE A LOT OF OTHER STORES DO.

AS I MENTIONED BEFORE IN THIS THREAD, IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM PM ME AND I WILL PERSONALLY HANDLE IT. BEING THAT I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY PM'S SINCE JUNE I HAVE A FEELING MOST OF THESE COMPLAINTS ARE NOT REAL.
 
I only can tell my experience with cheapdroids.com, and is not a good one. I have order a OEM battery and a 15ft hdmi cable for my evo on 6/27/10, after 3 weeks did call them check on the order they told me the battery will be available on august 8th, so I was ok with that, but Wath about the cable, they sed we are going to send you the cable first; after one week I did ask for my order an they sex cable was discontinued, they have another 5ft long I sed ok refund me de difference,they send the cable on August 10th and no battery,did call them they gave another excuses and say we will give you a case for free, 3 days after they send the case (a crappy one of curse) and no battery, called again they say we will have another shipment on August 28, well after all they send a battery but not the original like they have promised (I HAVE PAY $27 AND THEY SEND A CHEAP $10 BATTERY FROM CHINA) on Sep 7, at all times my costumer experience was negative and that's without counting the rudeness of their people that works there, I will never buy or recommend this site.

The original HDMI cables and batteries we had ordered from our old supplier who did not send them when we were told they were being sent. We were forced to find other suppliers. Right now we only have 5FT HDMI cables and non-oem batteries. I'm not sure what else we could have done for you other than offering the full refund or partial refunds with similar products. So I guess offering a free case for your trouble was bad customer support as well. We've done our best over these last few months to get new suppliers that can actually meet the ETA's we are given when ordering things. So the issues we had on long backorders on product we had when we started should be over. As I mentioned we have all ETA's listed on the sites for anything not in stock and most of our stock that we've gotten in the past couple weeks has been before the ETA's listed. But no one ever goes out and posts about getting things early.
 
The fact that u always have a excuses for the way that u run your business and costumers doesn't mean that u are doing ok to us we will always remember the way u do and the only think we can do is shear our experience.

I'm not really sure what you even said there. Our customer support has tried to be as helpful as possible when people have had issues on backordered items. You said yourself that we gave you a free case.

How dare you call me a liar, you piece of ...!? How many months ago did you remove that bloody banking fee? Do you need proofs from my banking account for June? That's you who is a liar desperately trying to save his monkey business! Why on earth would I have placed my complaint - just to have fun or what? Had I looked at your rating at the start, I'd have never dealt with you: what is 6 out of 10 rating for an internet company? It's the lowest of the low because everybody knows how easily are positive reviews made up...
 
My point is that we don't have any banking fees on returns anymore. How many times do I have to say SEND ME YOUR ORDER ID AND I WILL PERSONALLY LOOKAT YOUR ACCOUNT. If we were some fly by night company do you think I'd be wasting my time posting here? I'm trying to help anyone that had any problems.
