charge during sync?

I noticed that when I was syncing contacts with PC, the charge indicator behaved just like when on the charger. Does anyone know if it really charges off the USB connection?

Of course it does. It however does NOT supply as much power though. I think most were reporting about twice as long to charge with the USB power then through the WALL power.
