Can anyone help me with Droid X 2.3.340 ROOT

I had root access and then lost it when the 2.3.340 update came out. I just recently tried to unroot and then root through using the Z4root 1.3.0. I ran the unroot and then ran the permenant root, but it still did not work. I then tried to unroot and repeat the process, but the unroot option is not there anymore. So I have just tried to root a couple times and it goes through the steps and then reboots but it will not let me use any root apps. What am I doing wrong here? I really want my phone to be rooted but I cannot get it to work. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP me with this. Is there an easier way or something or am I doing something wrong. Let me know.

At this point, you probably need to flash your phone with RSD Lite and some sbf files to get you back to a clean slate with 2.3.340 on your phone.

Once, back to stock, apply the Z4 Root app again. It should work.

Have you looked to see if the Superuser app is there? If it is open and see if the root apps are set to allow.

how do i flash my phone with the rsd lite and which sdf files do i need. I am kind of new to all this stuff and dont know what you mean by doing these things

before running RSD you might try a cache wipe to see if that fixes the problem.
