Bypass slider lock and speaker control ???

I got my X last May and someplace in the setting found a way to turn off the default slider lock and speaker control on the default home screen.

Just got an X for my wife and can't find any such control. Am I just forgetful or did the control disappear on phones with 2.2 on them ? My phone is upgraded to 2.2 but I think was 1.9 or so when I bought it.

Can anybody help me with turning off that lock ?

Think moto messed up no setting will remove it n 2.2 that I could find but free app in market called no lock, an some home launchers have it...
