build.prop

I read somewhere that you can edit this to make your phone ring faster. My phone vibrates first and then a second later the screen comes on and then it rings.

My clock settings are 250-550mhz.

Would changing the build.prop help and are there any negatives?

I'm running sapphire 1.1

ro.telephony.call_ring.delay is the field you want. Its value is time in milliseconds. If I recall, you can safely set it to 0 if you want.

You can also put # and a space at the beginning of the line and the command is ignored, removing any delay.

Ringtones?

If the ring delay is shorter or zero, does this increase the problems of Caller ID not recognizing the number and playing the default ringtone instead of the custom ringtone for that caller? I've had problems like that in the past, and have always assumed that it was due to clock speed being too low during sleep.

If I could INCREASE the ring delay to help this problem, I'd be more comfortable setting sleep speed to 125MHz...

Any thoughts?

Does anyone have an original build.prop?
I modified mine an apparently the update does a checksum on it. I pulled the original backup to my laptop and can't find the sucker.
Any help, pretty please?
