Bought new D2Global with .607 software, how do I disable Verizon OTA updates?

My screen digitizer went out, so I found a new Droid 2 Global that has the .607 software. Getting ready to root it again and install TB Pro and all my purchased software. Wondering how to disable Verizon OTA updates so that I don't get un-rooted again on my my new-old phone? Thanks for any help!

Update to 4.5.608 (not 4.5.629) and then rename

/system/app/BlurUpdater_VZW.apk
/system/app/BlurUpdater_VZW.odex

giving them extensions like .bak or something like that.
