Books to xoom?

It seems as though I've tried everything but I just can't seem to get it to work. I'm looking to transfer books from my PC to my xoom, but when I do the conversions,the output never fits the screen. I use kindle, but I'm willing to use other readers. Anyone have any ideas on how to make it fit right? Btw, I'm using calibre to do my conversions.

Can you clarify books? Are they in Google Books, kindle, etc ...

They are epub and mobi files

I too use calibre to convert my files and did notice that some of the books in the Kindle app had a few spaces between lines but they all fit the screen.
