Went with the hardshell. Easier to slide in and out of the pocket. Resistance to a drop seems the same but swapping out batteries with the shell is a pain.

I love the silicon plastic case from Verizon but its a pain in the ass to hit the power button or the volume buttons.. I actually had to cut holes were these buttons were.

I've got the hard silicon plastic case on my Pro with the extended batter only issue was the power button was hard to press now I have switched to the shell and holster fits perfect and I love it no muss no fuss no cut here jam this in that just a good fit
