black lit screen

Have a D1 that I finally decided to root. after rooting and making back up, I tried to download a new theme with saphire 1.0 now after rebooting, the M comes on screen, and then the screen is black (lit, but just black). I've tried rebooting, wiping cache, and other fixes I have found on here but still getting black lit screen. any help would be great.

forgot to mention, when I go to recovery, it's the blue android system recovery (3e) screen. no android in background, just the triangle with !.

Did you install ClockWorkMod or SPRecovery? Doesnt sound like you did. You will probably need to do a factory reset if you cant get past the M logo. Then reRoot and install RomManager and have it install Clockworkmod for you.

thought I did, but apparently did something wrong. Right now, just want my phone back working. tried to do update.zip on card, but I can't get that to work either, always state file not found and aborts installation. any ideas
