Hey,

I found this while cruzin the XDA forums....its a basic black keyboard for rooted users

Modified Droid X Keyboard by WJD - Page 5 - xda-developers

I was wondering if you guys could help me out. My question is after downloading the file it states to copy it to the SD card on your device.

Is there a certain folder I am supposed to copy this file into or do I simply dump it onto the SD card? Also what mode should the device be in while plugged in? USB mass storage or PC mode?

Thanks

It doesn't matter where the file goes.

Either mode will work. USB Mass Storage mode is faster if you need to transfer large files.

After you transfer the file to the sd card, use Astro to install the apk file. As long as you have Install From non-Market Apps checked off on your device it will install.

thank you :)

when copying the file to the SD card it comes back saying the file is not supported by this device?

ok so im understanding it much better now

I got to step 3

3. Rename LatinIME.apk to LatinIME.bak (this will back it up in case of any problems so you can revert back to stock)

when i attempt to rename the file it says I cannot rename file as I am in read only

how to I enable myself to rename the file?

I can't seem to find the APK for this
"5. Long press “DroidX_Multi_WJD.apk” and click copy"

i download the zip file and there is no apk inside.
anyone able to help?
thanks in advance!

Grab APK from Here

its gonna prompt you with a log in for the devs site. Just create one really quick and then it will prompt you to download the .apk file, from that point on I just did the rest using root explorer and it was a piece o cake
